Morissette, 38, wearing no makeup, seemed content and happy as she watched her towhead tot, 2, playing on the beach. On the back of her bikini bottom bore a message that seemed in line with her serene demeanor: “Self Love.”

The Canadian singer, whose 1995 album Jagged Little Pill sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, celebrated Treadway’s 33rd birthday the day before, tweeting “happy birthday to my angel husband. xooxoxox @Souleye  I love you honey” on May 3. The pair wed on May 22, 2010.

While promoting her her most recent album Havoc and Bright Lights over the summer of 2012, she opened up on Good Morning America about struggling with the “baby blues” after the Dec. 25, 2010 birth of her son. “It was just a really intense time, and if I could share anything with anyone who’s going through it, it would be to encourage them to seek help and reach out a little earlier than I did,” she said.
