Kenan James Death - Software Engineer at 31 Passes Away After Battle with Cancer

The technology community is mourning the loss of Kenan James, a talented software engineer who passed away at the young age of 31. James, who worked at Google, died on Tuesday, August 8th 2023 after fighting a long battle with late-stage blood cancer.

James was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia and graduated from East Paulding High School. He went on to study at the prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, known as Georgia Tech, where he earned a degree in computer science.

During his college years and after graduation, James held internships and jobs at several top technology companies including Salesforce, Visa, The Home Depot, and Web2Asia. These experiences helped shape his expertise in software engineering and passion for coding.

In 2017, James achieved his dream job when he was hired as a software engineer at Google. He quickly built a reputation as an ingenious coder who brought fresh ideas to every project. Co-workers described James as a kind, funny person who made the office environment more enjoyable.

Outside of work, friends remember James as someone who was always smiling and cracking jokes. He had an infectious energy that lifted the spirits of those around him. James enjoyed sports, video games, traveling when he could, and spending time with his beloved dog Cooper.

Sadly, just as James was hitting his stride professionally, he received the devastating news that he had late-stage blood cancer. He bravely fought the disease for over a year, undergoing intensive treatments while still trying to maintain some normalcy in his life.

James passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on the morning of August 8th. He is survived by his parents, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and large extended family.

His sudden death at such a young age has left his loved ones reeling. "Kenan was such a special person - whenever we were together we were goofy, rambunctious, and maybe even a little annoying. He had a talent for making other people's lights shine brighter," said one heartbroken friend.

The technology world has lost one of its most promising young talents. Kenan James is being remembered for his brilliant mind, vibrant spirit, and the too-short time he had to make his mark on the world. His legacy lives on in the innovations he contributed to and the lives he touched during his 31 years of life. May he rest in peace.
